Elsevier unveiled SciVal Spotlight

To date, research output has been evaluated based on the journal in which it is published. Each scientific journal is classified into a major field despite the fact that journals are progressively covering a wider array of disciplines and paradigms (sub-topics) that are not properly reflected in their field classification. this is challenge of measuring interdisciplinary research performance and allocating resources.Last week the scholarly publisher Elsevier unveiled SciVal Spotlight, an online service that attempts to uncover universities' strengths and weaknesses in no fewer than 80,000 areas of research.for more informaion on SciVal Spotlight click here.
